Samantha Sloyan stars in Mike Flanagan’s ‘Carrie’ series

Actress Samantha Sloyan is portraying Margaret White in Mike Flanagan’s television reimagining of Stephen King’s ‘Carrie’, which premiered on Prime Video. Unlike previous cinematic interpretations, this version of the character is depicted as a fiercely protective and loving mother who attempts to shield her daughter from bullying and external dangers.

Flanagan noted that Sloyan was his primary choice for the role due to her ability to communicate both strength and vulnerability. Sloyan, who has previously played polarizing characters in ‘Midnight Mass’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, expressed that she finds meaningful intimacy in the strong emotional reactions viewers have toward the characters she portrays.
