Samara Weaving Cast as Emma Frost for New X‑Men MCU Film

Marvel Studios announced that Australian actress Samara Weaving has been selected to play Emma Frost in the upcoming X‑Men reboot that will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The decision was made by director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige after a series of auditions and a shortlist of candidates.

Emma Frost is a telepathic mutant first introduced in the 1980s X‑Men comics and previously portrayed by January Jones in 2011's X‑Men: First Class. The new film will be directed by Schreier, with a screenplay by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. Marvel declined to comment further on the casting.

The casting news has been reported in multiple markets, including the United States, Italy and Serbia, reflecting the global interest in the revival of the X‑Men franchise following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019.
