Samara Weaving reportedly joins cast of Zelda live-action movie
Samara Weaving has reportedly joined the cast of the live-action adaptation of ‘The Legend of Zelda’, a collaboration between Nintendo and Sony Pictures. While neither studio has officially confirmed the casting, reports suggest the Australian actress will take on a key role in the film directed by Wes Ball.
Specific details regarding Weaving’s character have not been disclosed. However, with Bo Bragason already cast as Princess Zelda, fans have speculated she may portray one of the Great Fairies. The production wrapped filming in April, ahead of a scheduled 2027 release date.
The ensemble cast includes Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, Uli Latukefu as Ganondorf, and Dichen Lachman as Impa. The cast also features Yvonne Strahovski and the late Sam Neill in undisclosed roles. This casting follows Weaving’s recent involvement in the Marvel Studios ‘X-Men’ reboot.
