Samaritan Health Services to join MultiCare Health System

Samaritan Health Services will officially become part of the Washington-based nonprofit MultiCare Health System on November 1. The affiliation follows approvals from public agencies and follows a period of due diligence.

Under the new arrangement, Samaritan will retain its name, local leadership, and community-based governance. MultiCare has committed to investing $700 million over the next 10 years to expand care access, upgrade facilities and technology, and recruit providers.

Patients are expected to experience no disruption in care. They can maintain current providers, keep scheduled appointments, continue using Samaritan pharmacies, and access health records via MyChart. The affiliation will not change the insurance plans accepted by Samaritan or the offerings of Samaritan Health Plans.
