Samaritan's Purse Hospital Serves 4,600+ in Venezuela Earthquake Relief

Following the magnitude‑6 earthquakes on 24 June that devastated parts of Venezuela, the Christian humanitarian group Samaritan's Purse established a field hospital in the country. The centre, staffed by medical volunteers from Australia, Canada and the United States, has treated more than 4,660 people and performed 289 surgical procedures. With a capacity of about 60 beds, the facility is reported to be full, and the organization also runs food‑distribution programmes for displaced families. President Franklin Graham said the situation in the affected zones is “difficult to explain,” noting collapsed buildings and ongoing searches for missing residents. He added that the hospital is “full” and urged continued prayers and support for the Venezuelan people.
