Samatan school undergoes 8.5 million euro renovation
The Yves Chaze primary school in Samatan, Gers, has been inaugurated following a comprehensive 18-month renovation project. The project cost 8.5 million euros, with 75% of the funding provided through public subsidies, including over 60% from the state.
The renovated facility is now an energy-positive school, utilizing bio-sourced and recycled materials. The upgrades, which include revegetation to protect students from extreme heat, have resulted in a 40% reduction in energy consumption compared to previous levels.
During the inauguration, Gers Deputy Jean-René Cazeneuve emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities for children in Samatan compared to those in major urban centers like Toulouse or Paris.
