Samb president Massi calls for resignation of referee assignor Ayroldi

Vittorio Massi, president of the football club Samb, has called for the resignation of referee assignor Nicola Ayroldi following controversial officiating during a Serie C match against Vado. Massi expressed intense frustration over the performance of referee Pizzi, alleging that the officiating significantly penalized his team.

Massi criticized the overall preparation of referees assigned to Serie C, stating that certain officials are not ready for the level of competition. He noted that other clubs, including Campobasso and Perugia, have expressed similar grievances. Additionally, Massi highlighted the improper use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR/FVS) system, claiming officials failed to use the technology to correct evident errors.

While acknowledging that a formal protest via PEC may have little impact, Massi confirmed that the club is preparing a formal complaint regarding the match.
