Samba-Battal Road rehabilitation receives 38.84 crore rupees

Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that the Border Roads Organization (BRO) has allocated 38.84 crore rupees for the rehabilitation of the Samba-Battal Road. This funding aims to address long-standing demands from residents in the Samba, Udhampur, and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The project, part of ‘Project Sampark’, covers the stretch from kilometer 0.00 to 26.70. Immediate restoration work is underway to repair monsoon damage, including the construction of retaining walls and culverts, while a comprehensive rehabilitation plan involving 78 additional retaining walls and new drainage systems is being prepared.

Separately, former Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaid commented on India's growing global influence following the SCO Summit. Vaid highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stance on global issues, including his calls to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He also addressed recent tensions involving Pakistan, noting the significance of India's economic growth and criticizing the treatment of minorities in Pakistan.
