Samba Foods returns to profitability in 2025
Samba Foods Limited has returned to profitability for the 2025 fiscal year, reporting a net profit after tax of approximately GH¢265,000. This marks a recovery from a GH¢245,000 loss recorded in 2024. The company’s total income more than doubled, rising from roughly GH¢802,000 in 2024 to GH¢1.62 million in 2025.
This financial recovery was driven by a partnership with Unifa Brothers, which addressed critical constraints regarding working capital and packaging machinery. Under this arrangement, Samba Foods manufactured approximately 11 million sachets. The partnership significantly boosted gross-profit margins from 7% to 42%.
Despite these gains, management expressed caution, noting that the 2025 results represent the beginning of a turnaround rather than its completion. The company faces concentration risk, as approximately two-thirds of its 2025 income was linked to the Unifa arrangement. Moving forward, the company aims to build a more durable business model that reduces dependency on single commercial relationships.
