Sambhal school canopy collapse kills child during Independence Day event

A tragic accident occurred during Independence Day celebrations at Al Hasnain Public School in Madala village, Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh. A concrete canopy or balcony located above the school's main gate collapsed, striking several children.

Reports indicate that multiple children had climbed onto the structure to gain a better view of the festivities. The weight of the group caused the approximately 20-year-old structure to give way. The collapse resulted in the death of an eight-year-old boy, identified as Nizamuddin. Two other students, Saif Ali (11) and Shaidana (10), sustained injuries and were referred to a district hospital for treatment.

Local authorities, including the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and Sub-Divisional officers, arrived at the scene to investigate. Preliminary findings suggest the collapse was caused by excessive weight on the structure rather than a major structural defect in the building itself. No formal police complaint has been filed by the deceased child's family as of the latest reports.
