Sambhali Trust hosts photo exhibition at UN in Geneva

The Sambhali Trust organized a photo exhibition titled ‘Desert Daughters of India 2.0’ at the United Nations in Geneva. The event aimed to highlight the resilience and experiences of displaced and vulnerable communities residing in the desert regions of Rajasthan.

The exhibition documented the journeys of families, including many Hindu families, who migrated to India from Pakistan. Through photographs, personal accounts, and information panels, the display focused on their transition from displacement toward safety, dignity, education, and livelihood opportunities.

Additionally, the exhibition addressed the legal frameworks regarding citizenship for eligible members of specific religious communities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. It specifically noted the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024, which provide pathways for registration or naturalization in India.
