Sambhar Lake police officer arrested for taking 50,000 rupee bribe

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Rammlan Meena, the station officer of the Sambhar Lake Police Station in Jaipur, for allegedly accepting a bribe of 50,000 rupees.

The arrest followed complaints that Meena was demanding monthly payments to ensure that a road construction project, awarded to the complainant’s father’s firm by the Public Works Department (PWD), could proceed without interruption. According to reports, the officer allegedly harassed construction site employees and vehicles by taking them to the police station if the bribes were not paid.

During the verification process, it was determined that the officer had demanded a total of 50,000 rupees, calculated at a rate of 10,000 rupees per month. The ACB conducted a trap operation and caught Meena red-handed while he was receiving the money in his office.
