SAMEDAY completes acquisition of Romanian courier Cargus
SAMEDAY Group has finalized the purchase of 100% of Cargus' share capital, making the courier company a wholly owned subsidiary. The transaction received clearance from the Romanian Competition Council and became effective on 3 August 2026.
Following the acquisition, the two firms will move into an operational integration phase. Their delivery networks, teams and internal systems will be gradually aligned to offer customers a seamless, reliable and more efficient service. SAMEDAY CEO Lucian Baltaru and Cargus CEO Belgin Bactali said the deal aims to build a stronger logistics infrastructure, expand national coverage and raise service standards for both individual and business clients.
SAMEDAY, active for 18 years in Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria, employs over 6 000 staff and operates roughly 8 000 easybox lockers. The integration timeline and any impact on existing services will be communicated as the process progresses.
