Sami Pajari wins Rally Finland, secures second consecutive WRC victory

Finnish driver Sami Pajari, co‑driven by Marko Salminen for Toyota Gazoo Racing, claimed victory at the 2026 Rally Finland, his second straight World Rally Championship win after triumphing in Estonia two weeks earlier. The win gave Toyota a 1‑2‑3 podium, with Oliver Solberg second and Elfyn Evans third, while nine‑time champion Sébastien Ogier crashed on Saturday and withdrew without serious injury.

Pajari’s victory moved him to second place in the drivers’ championship, 30 points behind leader Evans (201 pts to Pajari’s 172). The result also marked the 200th WRC win for a Finnish driver and made Pajari the 14th different Finn to win the Rally Finland. The next round of the championship is scheduled for Paraguay in August.
