Sami Zayn discusses WWE title reign and career progression

Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn recently discussed his career trajectory and the circumstances surrounding his championship wins. In an interview on “Insight With Chris Van Vliet,” Zayn addressed being selected to end GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Title reign, noting that the decision felt like a series of unpredictable dominoes falling into place.

Reports indicate that Zayn has successfully won over internal doubters within WWE following his second title run. While there was reportedly initial pushback regarding a second championship reign, his recent performances have shifted backstage sentiment. Zayn has defended the title against competitors including Kevin Owens, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams.

Zayn is currently preparing for a champion versus champion match against World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. The bout is scheduled for the WWE Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 7, 2026.
