Samik Bhattacharya discusses West Bengal economic roadmap at ICBI talk show
The International Chamber of Business & Industry (ICBI) hosted a talk show in Kolkata focused on the economic development roadmap for West Bengal. The session, titled “West Bengal: What We Have Lost in the Last 50 Years and What We Plan to Gain in the Next 10 Years,” featured Samik Bhattacharya, Member of Rajya Sabha and State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal.
The discussion addressed industrial revival, infrastructure development, employment generation, education, and investment opportunities. Bhattacharya emphasized the need for policy reforms and a collaborative environment between the government and industry to foster entrepreneurship. He noted that the priority is to create an environment where investments can flourish without unnecessary interference, stating, “The Prime Minister has made it clear that investments of ₹100 crore and above must receive complete support and face no obstruction at any level.”
The event was attended by various industrialists, entrepreneurs, and professionals. The goal of the session was to explore ways to strengthen the state's economic ecosystem and build a transparent, investor-friendly West Bengal over the next decade.
