Samil PwC and Korea Exchange host inaugural industry-specific accounting seminar

Samil PwC and the Korea Exchange SME Accounting Support Center co-hosted their first industry-specific accounting and tax seminar in Seoul. The two-day event, held at the Korea Exchange Market Square, focused on five key sectors: K-beauty, bio, K-food, distribution, and IT platforms.

Approximately 350 employees from 187 companies attended the sessions. A primary focus was the upcoming implementation of K-IFRS 1118 (IFRS 18) next year, which will restructure income statements into operating, investing, and financing categories and mandate the disclosure of management-defined performance measures (MPM).

Specific industry topics included transfer pricing and customs optimization for K-beauty, management and valuation for bio, and revenue recognition and AI-driven accounting efficiency for IT platforms and K-food. Samil PwC plans to expand these specialized training programs and publish industry-specific accounting and tax guidebooks to help businesses navigate changing standards and AI integration.
