Sammy Hagar to move away from Van Halen-focused concerts
Sammy Hagar has announced his intention to move away from concert sets that focus primarily on his era as the lead singer of Van Halen. Speaking to SiriusXM, Hagar expressed a desire to perform a broader range of music from his 50-year career, including material from his time with Montrose and his solo work.
Hagar is currently performing the ‘Best of All Worlds’ tour alongside longtime collaborators Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani. The tour, which includes a five-show residency in Las Vegas, has allowed him more flexibility to explore his full discography compared to standard touring schedules. While he noted he is ‘kind of obligated’ to perform certain Van Halen songs, he aims to honor his long-term fans by showcasing more diverse musical projects.
