UK garage and bassline artist Sammy Virji has released a surprise eight-track album titled ‘Open Late’. The project marks his first collection of original solo material since his 2025 LP ‘Same Day Cleaning’.
Designed to mimic the experience of a live club set, the album features elements such as unusual key changes and breakdowns intended to replicate moments from his live performances. The tracklist includes ‘Crazy Funky’, ‘Light Work’, and ‘Diggy’, as well as ‘Repeaty’, a song written shortly before a performance with Fred again.. in Chicago.
Collaborations on the album include London-based duo Joy Anonymous and Wet on ‘Letter Blue’, and California-based artist Hans Glader on ‘La Belle’. The release follows a period of significant touring for Virji, including a recent headline debut at Red Rocks and upcoming performances at the Amsterdam Dance Event and various North American cities through November 15.
