Samoa and Solomon Islands engage in bilateral talks with international partners
Samoa and China’s Shanxi Province have established a new partnership focused on renewable energy, climate resilience, and sustainable development. During the 10th High Level Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum, Samoan Deputy Prime Minister Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molio’o met with Tang Dengjie, Secretary of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee. The discussions emphasized Samoa’s goal to accelerate renewable energy deployment and strengthen energy security through sustainable infrastructure.
In the Solomon Islands, Prime Minister Matthew Wale held bilateral talks with United States Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in Honiara. A primary focus of the meeting was the planned return of the US Peace Corps to the Solomon Islands after a two-decade absence. The leaders also discussed economic development priorities and the United States’ commitment to promoting stability and prosperity within the Pacific region.
