Samobor cat shelter receives 10,700 euro anonymous donation

The animal rights association ‘Prava šapa’ in Samobor, Croatia, has received an unexpected anonymous donation of 10,700 euros to fund the construction of a cat shelter. The organization had been struggling to raise funds through crowdfunding for several months to complete their project.

The donation arrived without prior notice, names, or initials, leading members to initially fear it was a technical error. After verifying the funds over a weekend, the association confirmed the money is legitimate and has fully covered the costs for the next phase of the project.

The planned shelter will cover 1,200 square meters and is designed to accommodate more than 200 cats. The newly secured funds will be used for site protection, excavation, and construction pit remediation. The association has expressed a desire to identify the donor to offer a personal thank you.
