Samosir Regency readiness assessed for Lake Toba Special Economic Zone

Bank Indonesia (BI) North Sumatra and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) are conducting an in-depth study regarding the formation of the Lake Toba Special Economic Zone (KEK). The assessment includes evaluating the readiness of Samosir Regency to support this development.

The study aims to formulate a development model that integrates tourism, culture, education, health, and other economic sectors sustainably. Officials noted that the development of Lake Toba requires coordinated policies and shared perceptions among local governments within the region to ensure effective growth.
