Sampang man killed by son-in-law following music dispute

A man was killed by his son-in-law following a dispute over loud music in Dusun Tlagah, Mambulu Barat Village, Tambelangan District, Sampang Regency, East Java.

The victim, identified as a 55-year-old man, was attacked with a machete while sitting on his terrace. The suspect, a 25-year-old man, reportedly became enraged after the victim's loud sound system prevented the suspect's child from sleeping. According to Sampang Police Chief AKBP Anang Hardiyanto, the suspect struck the victim in the head and neck, causing fatal injuries that resulted in death at the scene.

Investigations suggest the suspect had also been harboring long-standing resentment toward the victim due to family matters. The suspect faces charges under the Indonesian Criminal Code, with a maximum potential sentence of 15 years in prison.
