Sampdoria eyes new goalkeeper as Torino’s Alberto Paleari remains in doubt
Italian Serie A club Sampdoria is actively searching for a first‑choice goalkeeper for the 2024‑25 season. Sporting director Americo Branco has opened talks with Torino over their 1992‑born keeper Alberto Paleari, who has received a contract renewal offer from Torino until 2028. Sampdoria hopes Paleari may consider a move despite Torino’s plans to retain him as a backup to recent signings.
In parallel, the club is scouting free agents with Serie A experience, notably Brazil’s veteran goalkeeper Norberto Neto, who left Botafogo after 18 appearances, and Australia’s former Roma keeper Mathew Ryan, released by Levante after a season as starter. Additional Italian options such as Emil Auderò, Boris Radunović and Lorenzo Montipò have also been mentioned, but the primary focus remains on Paleari and the two international free agents.
