Sampdoria eyes Olzer signing and weighs coaching options

Sampdoria is targeting 22‑year‑old midfielder Giacomo Olzer, currently at Pescara, who is expected to leave after the club’s relegation to Serie C. President Daniele Sebastiani says the player will join on Sampdoria’s terms and at no cost.

The club is also negotiating a permanent transfer for Tjas Begic, with director Americo Branco and technical director Jesper Fredberg leading talks; no agreement has been reached yet. Sampdoria has indicated it will not activate purchase options for loaned players Edoardo Soleri, Simone Pafundi and Nicholas Pierini, and the futures of other loanees remain uncertain.

In the search for a new head coach, former player‑coach Fabio Pecchia is the preferred name, but Davide Possanzini is currently the front‑runner as the club rebuilds its squad.
