Sampdoria CEO Jesper Fredberg targeted by fan protest

Supporters of the Italian football club Sampdoria staged a protest at the private residence of CEO Jesper Fredberg, leaving a large pile of manure and an insulting banner at his home. The incident occurred in Bogliasco, near Genoa, following a period of poor performance by the club in Serie B.

Sampdoria released an official statement condemning the actions, describing them as a “grave and unacceptable violation of privacy” for Fredberg and his family. While the club acknowledged that the team’s results are well below expectations, they emphasized that constructive criticism and peaceful protests are legitimate, whereas personal attacks on employees and their families are intolerable.

The club is currently struggling in the second division, sitting at the bottom of the table with only five points from nine matches. This crisis has already led to coaching changes, with Luca D’Angelo replacing Corrado Corradi, though the team has yet to see a significant turnaround in form.
