Sampdoria fans face travel restrictions and legal sanctions
Sampdoria supporters are facing various restrictions and legal consequences following recent incidents of unrest. The National Observatory on Sports Events (ONMS) has suggested limitations for upcoming away matches in Bolzano and Ascoli. For the match in Ascoli, it is recommended that ticket sales in the away sector be reserved for Ligurian residents holding a valid SampCard, with cards issued after October 1st being ineligible.
In a separate development, investigations by the Digos police into the riots during the Sampdoria-Reggiana match on December 27, 2025, have concluded. The investigation into the group of 150-200 ultras who attempted to confront the club's former president resulted in 45 individuals being reported to judicial authorities and 35 receiving DASPO bans, totaling 47 years of stadium access prohibitions.
While fans await an official decision from the Ministry of the Interior regarding potential total bans following clashes in Avellino, no such prohibition has been implemented yet. Consequently, Avellino supporters remain permitted to travel to Cesena, with 2,500 tickets available without restrictions.
