Sampdoria manages squad list and pursues free agent attackers

Sampdoria is actively managing its squad and transfer strategy following the conclusion of the summer session. The club has officially excluded defender Alessandro Riccio from the Over list, meaning he cannot participate in official matches until the January window. Management, led by CEO Jesper Fredberg and Sporting Director Americo Branco, aims to find an international transfer for Riccio to monetize his contract, looking toward markets in Greece, Switzerland, or Portugal.

By excluding Riccio, the club has maintained an open slot in the squad to pursue free agents for the attacking department. Potential targets include Cedric Gondo, a striker with significant Serie BKT experience, as well as Manolo Gabbiadini and Andrea Belotti.

This transfer approach marks a shift in strategy for Sampdoria. Under the current leadership, the club has prioritized acquiring players on permanent transfers—primarily free agents—to increase the club's asset value and reduce reliance on the loan market, which has seen a significant decline compared to previous years in Serie BKT.
