Sampdoria prepares for Coppa Italia match against Cremonese

Sampdoria is preparing for its Coppa Italia match against Cremonese, scheduled for August 17 at the Druso stadium in Bolzano. The venue change was necessitated by the unsuitability of Cremonese's home stadium, Zini.

Under coach Bernardo Corradi, Sampdoria has undergone significant squad changes during the transfer market, securing nine new signings including Lorenzo Insigne, Bjorn Meijer, and Peter Vindahl. However, the club faces roster management challenges. Sporting director Americo Branco must manage the ‘Over’ list, which currently contains 21 players over the age of 23, exceeding the limit of 18. To accommodate new arrivals like Nicholas Pierini, the club needs to facilitate several departures.

Regarding player fitness, several squad members are undergoing individualized training. Lorenzo Insigne and Luca Ravanelli are working on specific programs and are unlikely to feature in the upcoming match. Tjas Begic is also training separately to recover from a muscle injury, while Yari Verschaeren has begun reintegrating with the group after a period as a free agent.
