Sampdoria signs Belgian midfielder Yari Verschaeren

Belgian midfielder Yari Verschaeren has officially joined Sampdoria following successful negotiations. The 2001-born player expressed pride in representing the club, citing its significant history and prestige as key factors in his decision to join the project.

Verschaeren credited Jesper Fredberg, Sampdoria’s sports area CEO, for playing a decisive role in the transfer due to their existing relationship from the player's time at Anderlecht. The midfielder, who describes himself as an attacking playmaker, aims to contribute goals and assists while helping the team play more effectively.

He noted that the club’s 80th anniversary makes his arrival particularly special. Verschaeren also mentioned that insights from former players, such as Dennis Praet, helped him understand the importance of the club to its supporters.
