Patna proposed for World Trade Centre as Bihar targets major investment

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced plans to develop a World Trade Centre in Patna as part of a broader initiative to modernize the state capital. During a high-level strategic review meeting, the National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC) presented proposals to redevelop various government land parcels, including locations near the Bihar Museum, Gardanibagh, and Boring Canal Road.

The proposed urban infrastructure projects are expected to attract approximately Rs 4,000 crore in investment and generate an estimated Rs 8,000 crore in revenue. The development strategy emphasizes modern construction technology, environmental standards, and a ‘Zero Waste Model’ to transform underutilized land into productive urban assets.

In a separate announcement during Independence Day celebrations, Choudhary set an ambitious target to secure Rs 5 lakh crore in total investments for Bihar by November. He also outlined long-term goals for the state, including the creation of one crore jobs and employment opportunities by 2030, and the establishment of 25 new sugar mills over the next five years.
