The newly included items encompass a variety of traditional crafts, local culinary specialties, and folk traditions. Specifically, the additions include Susuz cloth weaving, zembil basket weaving, the tradition of reciting mani (folk poems), Bafra buffalo yogurt, Terme pide, Bafra pide, the yufka tradition, and uğut molasses.
Süleyman Demirtaş, the Samsun Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism, stated that the initiative aims to document the city’s thousands of years of cultural richness to ensure these traditions are passed down to future generations. A commission composed of representatives from relevant institutions continues to research and identify further cultural values across the various districts of the province.
