Samsun traffic eases following Kenan Şara Interchange upgrades

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality has implemented a comprehensive transportation reorganization at the Kenan Şara Interchange to alleviate increasing vehicle density in the city. The project included the construction of two bridges and new connection roads to facilitate access to the Baruthane, Çatalarmut, and Karasamsun neighborhoods, which were previously difficult to reach by road due to the existing tram line.

Initial data following the opening of the new routes indicates a significant reduction in traffic load on Atatürk Boulevard. Specifically, traffic at the DLH and Karayolları junctions decreased by 26 percent. Other recorded changes include a 30 percent reduction in vehicles entering the coastal road from the Karayolları Junction and a 31 percent decrease from Alaçam Street. On the first day of operation, 2,312 vehicles utilized the new connection roads to reach the Baruthane region.
