Samsun City Hospital patient overcomes leukemia through chemotherapy

Ceren Türker, a 15-year-old patient from Amasya, has successfully overcome acute myeloid leukemia following treatment at the Samsun City Hospital Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Service.

Türker initially sought medical attention two months ago due to pain and swelling in her neck and legs. After being diagnosed with leukemia, she underwent chemotherapy, which led to the regression of the disease. Following her discharge, Türker expressed her joy at recovering her mobility and ability to eat, encouraging other patients to maintain high morale during their treatments.

Professor Dr. Zuhal Keskin, Head of the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Department, confirmed that the patient is currently disease-free and undergoing regular follow-up monitoring. Dr. Keskin noted that leukemia is among the most common childhood cancers in Turkey and advised parents to watch for symptoms such as persistent fever, leg pain, loss of appetite, and unusual bleeding.
