Samsun Culture Festival features opera concert and world premiere

The Samsun Culture Festival opened with a rich programme that included the world premiere of the opera "Kürk Mantolu Madonna" staged by the Samsun State Opera and Ballet. Workshops, talks, children’s activities and a “Child Village” offered a wide range of cultural experiences for visitors.

A highlight of the festival was the concert “Ozanların İzinde, Aşıkların Yolunda – Opera Anadolu’da”, in which seven regional folk poets’ songs were performed in opera style. The event attracted a full house, and schoolchildren from Şehit Nuri Pamir Primary School joined the soprano Ceylan Mira Balcı on stage, receiving enthusiastic applause. Organisers emphasized the project’s aim of passing Turkey’s intangible cultural heritage to younger generations.
