Samsun District Gets 113 Disability Vehicles through European Diaspora Support
In the Çarşamba district of Turkey’s Samsun province, a ceremony delivered 113 disability‑assistive vehicles to people in need. The distribution, coordinated by the Çarşamba District Governor’s Office, included 80 electric wheelchairs, 13 rollators, 10 manual chairs and 10 conventional wheelchairs. The effort was organized in partnership with the Dutch‑based Samsun Association and the Netherlands representation of the International Humanitarian Aid Organization (IHHNL).
Association President Adil Kurt said, “We are proud to bring these wheelchairs to our disabled brothers and sisters, showing how strong our ties to the homeland remain even from afar.” District Governor Mehmet Kamil Sağlam highlighted the rapid response after the diaspora’s request, thanking contributors from the Netherlands, Austria and other European countries. IHHNL Netherlands representative Mümin Özsoy noted the organization’s broader humanitarian work, citing a €24 million annual budget supporting projects in 40 countries and past aid after Turkey’s February earthquakes.
