Gaza solidarity events held through art and sports in Turkey and Gaza

Various solidarity activities for Gaza are being held across Turkey. In Samsun, the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality opened the “Message of Resistance: Gaza” exhibition at Cumhuriyet Square. Coordinated by artist Betül Yurtseven, the exhibition uses handmade sculptures, paintings, installations, and digital works to depict the destruction in Gaza and the resilience of the Palestinian people. The exhibition remains open until October 31.

In Bursa, a “Draw for Palestinian Children” event was organized where primary school students created drawings to support their peers in Gaza. During the event, 10-year-old Munzir Yazıcı delivered an emotional speech highlighting the differences between his daily life and the hardships faced by children in Gaza, such as the lack of schools, homes, and safety.

Additionally, in the Khan Yunis refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, a friendly football match was organized between teams representing Gaza and Rafah. Organizer Yunus Abu Sehlul stated the match aimed to provide a sense of normalcy and hope for displaced Palestinians living in tents amidst ongoing conflict.
