Samsun hosts EU Climate Ideathon 2026 local final

The EU Climate Ideathon 2026 local final was held in Samsun, bringing together 10 teams of 40 university students from Samsun and surrounding provinces. Organized by the Samsun EU Information Center under the auspices of the Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event is part of a program conducted by the European Union Delegation to Türkiye.

Following an online training and mentorship period that began on July 22, 2026, students presented projects focused on several key themes: food security and sustainable agriculture, cities and living spaces, clean energy and resource efficiency, zero waste and circular economy, ecosystems and biodiversity, and sustainable communities and just transition.

The Amisos Urban Equity Group, composed of students from Samsun University, secured first place. The winning group earned the right to represent Samsun at the national stage in Antalya, which will be held in November alongside COP31.
