Turkish regional initiatives support youth through education and specialized therapy
Various community and educational initiatives are being implemented across Turkey to support children and youth. In Samsun, the Metropolitan Municipality has introduced equine therapy for 413 children receiving education at the Autism Coordination and Life Center. This program utilizes the city's Equestrian Sports Facilities to help children improve motor coordination, balance, and social skills through interaction with horses.
In Bolvadin, approximately 2,000 students participating in summer Quran courses donated their personal savings to the ‘I am Sending Greetings to My Orphan Siblings’ project. The funds will be used to purchase stationery for children in need.
In Aydın's Söke district, the ‘No One Should Be Without Swimming’ project has provided swimming training to 200 students, including 40 children with special needs. Similarly, in Muğla, the ‘From Green to Blue’ project is teaching swimming and water safety to 97 children from rural neighborhoods.
In Trabzon, 15-year-old Eflal Keskin earned third place in a TÜBİTAK competition for developing a sensor-equipped footwear system designed to help scoliosis patients monitor their walking balance and gait.
