Samsun murder trial begins as family members accuse each other

The first hearing for the murder of Ferit Marhan took place at the Samsun 3rd High Criminal Court. The defendants, Gamze Sagamer, Dursun Ali Sagamer, and their son Aydın Sagamer, provided their defenses, with family members accusing one another of involvement in the crime.

The incident occurred on the night of January 24, 2026, in the Canik district of Samsun. Marhan's body was discovered next to a parked vehicle on the Samsun City Hospital Road. Forensic reports indicated that the victim suffered multiple sharp and blunt force injuries to the head, neck, and chest, leading to death via brain hemorrhage, spinal cord severance, and major vessel injury.

Following the killing, Gamze Sagamer surrendered to the Irmak Şehit Davut Doğan Police Station with the weapons used. While she initially claimed to have acted alone, subsequent investigations involving security footage and communication records suggested the involvement of her husband and son. All three suspects remain in custody.
