Samsun advances infrastructure and textile industry investments
Samsun is undergoing significant infrastructure and industrial development. The Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STSO) announced that the foundation for a new domestic and international terminal at Samsun-Çarşamba Airport will be laid on September 3. Once completed, the new terminal is expected to increase the airport's annual passenger capacity from two million to three million, supporting the city's logistics and transportation goals.
Simultaneously, the Turkish Home Textile Manufacturers and Businessmen Association (TETSİAD) held its first board meeting outside of Istanbul in Samsun. TETSİAD leadership met with Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı to discuss the development of the home textile sector, focusing on public-private cooperation, investment opportunities, and increasing the sector's competitiveness in national and international markets. The delegation also visited local cultural and tourism sites to evaluate the city's broader economic potential.
