Samsun street celebration causes disruption and traffic issues

In the Selahiye neighborhood of the İlkadım district in Samsun, a street celebration involving young people caused significant disruption for approximately four hours. The event, which began around 21:00 in Kocatepe Street, involved numerous vehicles playing loud music, blocking traffic, and preventing local market vendors from setting up their stalls.

Participants engaged in various dangerous activities, including burning tires with motorcycles, performing drifts, and attempting to emit flames from vehicle exhausts. These actions caused significant noise pollution and safety risks for residents and drivers.

Local citizens reported the disturbances to the 112 Emergency Call Center. While police initially intervened and temporarily dispersed the crowd, the activities resumed after officers left the area. A second police intervention was required to end the disturbance, during which some individuals reportedly used torches while moving away from the scene. Residents have expressed frustration over the lack of sleep and the impact on public order.
