Samsung adds AI health tools to Galaxy Watch and plans World Cup‑themed Always‑On display for phones

Samsung announced a major software update for the upcoming generation of Galaxy Watch devices that expands the Samsung Health platform with AI‑driven health analytics. The new "Vitalwerte" feature measures heart rate, heart‑rate variability, respiration rate, skin temperature and blood‑oxygen saturation each morning and compares the readings to personal baselines, issuing alerts only for significant deviations. A consolidated "Heart Health" score now combines sleep quality, stress levels, activity and body‑composition data, while a "Fitness Index" evaluates training progress using VO₂max, heart‑rate and step‑count metrics against peer groups. The Health app interface has been reorganised into five sections—Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness and Vital Values—and includes new antioxidant and AGEs tracking, as well as a hearing‑health analyser that monitors ambient noise.

Separately, Android Authority uncovered patch notes suggesting that Samsung will introduce a World Cup‑focused enhancement to the Always‑On‑Display (AOD) on Galaxy smartphones ahead of the 2026 FIFA tournament. The feature would display real‑time match updates, key moments and animated notifications on the lock screen, linked to Google Sports data. Users would need to enable AOD and the "Now Bar" to see the animations, which are slated to appear only when the display is active.
