Samsung and Apple announce major smartphone software and hardware updates

Samsung has begun rolling out the Android 17 update to several popular smartphone models. The update includes the latest One UI software and the September 2026 security patch. Eligible devices include the Galaxy S25 series (S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, S25 FE, and S25 Edge) as well as foldable devices such as the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Flip 7 FE, and Z Fold 7. The new One UI version introduces features like My Fancam, which uses the camera to keep a selected subject centered in videos.

In related mobile news, Apple has announced its 2026 iPhone lineup. Notably, Apple has omitted the standard iPhone 18 model from the current release, delaying it until 2027. This makes the iPhone 17 the current entry-level option. The iPhone 17 features the A19 chip, 8 GB of RAM, and a doubled base storage capacity of 256 GB to support Apple Intelligence and heavy multitasking.
