Samsung Galaxy Card launches in US with Barclays, targeting Apple Card users
Samsung Electronics announced the launch of its first U.S. credit card, the Samsung Galaxy Card, on July 22, 2026. The card is co‑branded with Barclays US Consumer Bank, runs on the Visa network and carries no annual fee. Rewards are tiered: 5 % cash back on purchases made directly from Samsung, 3 % on transactions processed through Samsung Wallet, 2 % on selected streaming services (Netflix, Disney+, Spotify) and 1 % on all other spending. New cardholders who spend $2,000 within the first 90 days receive a $200 cash‑back bonus. The card is issued digitally for immediate use in Samsung Wallet, with an optional physical black metal version. Samsung says the partnership with Barclays is strategic and long‑term, and the move expands the company’s fintech footprint, putting it in direct competition with Apple’s credit‑card offering. About 70 % of U.S. households own a Samsung device, and nearly 30 % have three or more Samsung products, giving the Galaxy Card a large potential user base. Samsung indicated the possibility of extending the collaboration to additional financial products in the future.
