Samsung and GS Construction win major international design awards

Major South Korean corporations Samsung Electronics and GS Engineering & Construction have received multiple honors at the IDEA 2026 and Red Dot Design Awards.

Samsung Electronics secured 45 awards at the IDEA 2026, including one Impact Award for its accessibility design in home appliances. This design features voice guidance and automated door opening to assist users with varying physical abilities. Samsung also received 12 awards at the Red Dot Design Award 2026, notably a ‘Best of the Best’ honor for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s privacy display, which limits screen visibility from side angles to protect personal information.

GS Engineering & Construction achieved recognition at the IDEA 2026, winning a Bronze award for its ‘Ignis’ lighting solution and a main award in the branding category for its Brand Identity System (BIS). This achievement marks the second consecutive year the company has won awards from the world’s three major design competitions, following previous successes at the iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award.
