Samsung and Harman mark 10-year partnership with AI audio focus
Samsung Electronics subsidiary Harman is expanding its audio experiences through artificial intelligence and connectivity technologies. Marking the 10th anniversary of Samsung’s acquisition of Harman, the companies aim to create a seamless ecosystem connecting smartphones, vehicles, and homes.
Harman’s strategy focuses on reducing manual user intervention. Chief Technology Officer Armin Prommerberger stated that true innovation lies in reducing the need for users to manage devices directly. Instead, AI will be used to understand user context and preferences, automatically providing necessary services and adjusting environments.
The partnership has evolved from integrating AKG audio technology into Galaxy mobile devices to developing digital cockpits for vehicles. By combining Samsung’s display and connectivity expertise with Harman’s automotive and in-car solutions, the companies seek to create a continuous user experience that follows an individual from their mobile devices to their cars and eventually into their homes.
