Samsung and Huawei smartwatches tested by endurance runners

New wearable technology is being tested by endurance athletes to optimize training and performance. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is being utilized by runners like Aleksa Jovanović to track routes, altitude, and terrain impact during trail runs without the need for a phone, utilizing dual-frequency GPS (L1 + L5).

In Colombia, the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2, a device developed in collaboration with marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge, is being used to provide structured training plans and decode complex running metrics, such as running economy and marathon pacing, for amateur athletes.
