Samsung and Motorola have released details regarding the rollout of Android 17 and the One UI 9 interface.
Samsung's Japanese division published a list of compatible Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S26 series, S25, S24, and various Z Fold and Z Flip models. The list also extends to the Galaxy A series, such as the A57 and A55, and several Galaxy Tab models including the Tab S11 and Tab S10 series. Distribution for the Galaxy S26 series began in September, with updates for certain premium models following. In Japan, updates are expected throughout October and November, while more affordable models may receive them in December and January.
Motorola has also confirmed Android 17 updates for several devices, specifically targeting the Signature and Razr foldable series. Confirmed models include the motorola signature, Razr fold, Razr 70 Ultra, Razr 70 Plus, Razr 70, Razr 60 Ultra, and Razr 60. Early reports indicate that the Razr 60 Ultra (marketed as Razr Ultra 2025 in some regions) has begun receiving the update in the United States.
Android 17 introduces features such as improved multitasking via floating windows, smarter notifications, stackable widgets, and enhanced privacy controls, including more granular permission settings for contacts and location data.
