Samsung and Timex release new wearable timepieces

Samsung is promoting its Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 smartwatches, highlighting advanced health monitoring capabilities. The devices offer features such as sleep stage tracking, heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen levels, and the establishment of personal health baselines based on continuous data like skin temperature and respiratory rate. The Galaxy Watch9 is positioned as a lightweight, stylish option for daily wear, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is designed for rugged outdoor activities, featuring a titanium body, high brightness screen, and enhanced water resistance.

In contrast, Timex has launched the Retroware Digital, a watch that eschews modern smartwatch complexities like GPS, heart rate sensors, and smartphone notifications. Designed with a retro-futuristic aesthetic reminiscent of late 1980s and early 1990s sports watches, it features large curved numerals on a resin case. The device includes traditional digital functions such as a chronograph, countdown timer, and alarm, along with INDIGLO backlighting and 50-meter water resistance.
